The competitors screen allows the competitors to be managed. If you imported from either of the Alpha booking system the drivers will be created here automatically. Each imported driver has a unique ID which matches the booking system. If the competitor is duplicated on either of the booking systems this can create a duplicate competitor in the timing. Duplicates can also be created whenever a manual competitor is created, so if you use either of the Alpha booking system we strongly advise against creating competitors manually. If a driver is identified as a duplicate it is best to merge them.
Competitors can be added and edit even after the event has been imported. If you know an event or entry list has been amended after import you can click the Resync Competitors button to get the latest changes.
Adding or Editing Competitors (Club Racing)
At the top of the screen is a dropdown control to allow the class to be selected, along with an option to view all competitors (useful when checking for unassigned transponders). You can then filter this with the two radio buttons to show all competitors or to only show competitors entered into the event (ticked competitors).
Next are a set of buttons:
- New competitor – adds a new competitor
- Copy transponders – this copies competitor transponder allocations from another event. This is useful when running two events in one weekend where most competitors compete on both days.
- Print – this prints a competitor list.
Below is a list of competitors for the selected class. Clicking on a competitor shows their details on the right hand side. Where necessary details can be changed and saved by clicking the Save button.
If grids have been generated for a class and a driver is added, they will be automatically added to the back of the heats. If you require them to be distributed throughout the grids, you can either use the heat grids screen to completely regenerate the grids, or you can manually allocate positions by clicking on the relevant sessions and dragging the competitor into the required positions.
Adding or Editing Competitors (Corporate Karting)
To add drivers manually, use the drop down to select the appropriate class and click the “+ New Competitor” button. You can then enter the driver’s name into here.
Underneath is a tick box to hide the name from the web results. You can also give them a “nickname” which will be used in place of their name on the results.
If applicable for your template you can also set which group the competitor belongs to hear.
If you use loop assignment for your karts you can adjust the competitors position in the list by setting the registration order.
Finally click Save and they will then appear in the competitors list.
