Merging Customer profiles in Alpha Flow

Modified on Thu, 17 Nov, 2022 at 2:31 PM

You can merge duplicate customers that may have been inadvertently created in Alpha Flow from the Customer screen. Duplicate customers can cause issues in the Timing system (i.e. with Championship tables) or cause marketing emails to be sent to a customer twice; if a duplicate customer is identified it is important to merge them.

To search for a customer search for them in your customer database on Alpha Flow's customer screen. After you have searched for a customer you will see a checkbox next to each customer's name. Tick the boxes of the customers you will to merge and then a "Merge Selected" button will appear at the bottom of the screen.

You will then be prompted to select which of the selected customer's profiles is the one to keep and which profiles are to be merged into it. On the next screen you can double check the data of each customer you are merging (on the left) and select with the blue arrow or modify the data before it is merged into the sole customer profile (on the right). Press the Merge Selected button at the bottom to confirm the Merge.

Once you have merged the customer you will see a number next to the entries on their profile. This number represents each existence of that profile in the database. This will help you to identify which of the original profiles the data came from to create this merged master profile.

If you have incorrectly merged a customer you can find the Merge History in their profile. You can then choose to undo the merge of that specific profile data.
