Competitors in the PC's Scanning App

Modified on Fri, 2 Jun, 2023 at 2:52 PM

The Competitors tab

The competitors tab has a selection box to allow a class, or all un-scanned drivers to be selected. If scrutineering card barcoding has been enabled in the settings screen then an optional SC column will also be shown to show all drivers who have not had their scrutineering card scanned. The drivers are colour coded depending on the number of tyres that have been scanned for this event. Clicking on a driver will show detailed information of all of their tyres for the last 12 months.

The tyres are colour coded:

  • green is scanned for this event,
  • red is used at a previous event and is part of the tyre restrictions,
  • blue is used a previous event but not a restricted tyre.
  • Unregistered tyres are shown in grey.

Hovering over a tyre will show a list of events that tyre was registered for.

Manual tyre registration.

A tyre can be manually added by clicking on the competitor, and typing the barcode in at the bottom of the centre panel. The tyre position can also be selected, if required. Finally click the register tyre button.

If a tyre has been surrendered by a competitor, for example it has been damaged; it can be unregistered by clicking on the driver, then right clicking the tyre and selecting unregister.

Editing a competitor

A competitors number, licence number and pass barcode can be be changed by clicking the competitor, then clicking the Edit link next to their name.

Adding a competitor

A competitor (e.g. a late entry) can be added by clicking the +Add new competitor link above the list of drivers.

Note: it is recommended that the driver changes are made in the on-line system, and the competitors refreshed rather than adding through the PC software to ensure the correct Id’s are assigned to the driver, but this option is provided as an emergency fallback.

This will show the panel above. Enter the name and number and if possible the licence number, although this is not mandatory and click save. The pass barcode can also be entered if this is available.
