A segment is one part of an event where sporting activity takes places. A segment could be part of a day, or it could be multiple days. Every event must contain at least one segment.
For example, a simple event might have two segments:
- a Saturday test day
- a Sunday race day
Whereas a more complex event might have multiple segments:
- a circuit race event that spans Saturday and Sunday
- an practice day on Friday
- another optional practice day on Thursday
- additional activities such as a Rally on Saturday morning and another Rally on Saturday afternoon
- an Autosolo on Friday
Settings
The following settings have been moved to the segment level:
- Class Settings (which classes are in the event)
- Entry Settings (maximum classes, age restrictions, membership restrictions)
- Financial Settings (accounting codes, payment duration)
Creating Segments
We're releasing the event segments functionality in two stages:
- Stage one is putting the architecture in place - you won't be able to add new segments just yet
- Stage two is giving you the ability to add multiple segments to your events
We have added a default segment for each of your events.
You do not have to create multiple segments, but doing so brings the following benefits:
- one place to manage every segment in your event
- simplified pricing structures
- reduced configuration of waivers
- reduced event administration time
And for your customers, multiple segments means:
- a simplified entry process
- one entry form to complete
- one waiver to sign
- one place to manage multiple segment entries
